lunisolar: (i'm willing to wait for it)

[There hadn't really been a safe option before his status as a werewolf was revealed, and not much time or resources to spare on routine check-ups during a war, sadly, even if he were the type to go in for them. He feels like he's been in medical wings more than enough for three lifetimes anyway.

It makes his heart ache, that Teddy stumbles on calling him that. That he'd never gotten to until now, with Remus having died long before the boy could even say his first word. So long as they're both here, he'll do whatever he can to make up for it.

He doesn't even know what to make of being a hero. Of course, it's not an uncommon thing, an otherwise socially stigmatized person being raised on a pedestal after dying for a noble cause. He knows this. He's not convinced he deserves it, but if it's helped people like him, then he'll learn to live with the idea.]
It sounds much better.

[He listens intently as Teddy lists the effects he's had to deal with, saddened by the thought of his son going through that. He knows them all too well, of course. And that he would choose to work so intently with wolfsbane in spite of a sensitivity to it-- He's certainly his mother's son, with such a capacity for the care of others.] I'm so sorry, Teddy. I'd so hoped none of that would carry on to you. [He remembers all too clearly what it was like, to be so sickly so often as a child. The memories of his parents taking him to different specialists around the world in desperate search for a cure are dimmer, but still there as well. The look he gives him is mournful.]
