With a chuckle, he leans forward and laces his fingers loosely on the tabletop.
"Oh, she had a temper for sure, your mother. She could be very.. energetic," he says, the ghost of a nostalgic smile creeping over his face. "Your dad's temper wasn't quite so bad, but he had a real penchant for walking right into trouble without looking both ways for it, and he never really learned not to. So he was on the sofa quite often, yes."
