'Consider me a distant cousin if you like' leaves room for about a hundred more questions, but he can't help feeling relieved that they don't have to go any further than that just now. And not that he doesn't want to know, but these past few weeks have been a bit much, to put it mildly. Perhaps he'll ask her more someday, but not just yet.
