Owl Post meme, out of schedule

OWL MAIL

Wizards might not text with a mobile phone all that often, but they do have other methods of communication available when it comes to a quick chat with their mates (or enemies) at any hour of the day.

Post your characters, name, and preferences in the title area. You can include a generic starter if you want, or just post a blank. Anything goes.

1. OWL MAIL
This might be a little slow for quicker chats, especially if you're close by, but it's good to give the bird some exercise!

2. FIRE CALL
Just pop your head into that fire and chat away. Probably not recommended for drunken calls.

3. ENCHANTED MIRROR
Those little reflective surfaces that show your friend's face whenever you might need to tell them something. Maybe you can enchant them to connect to any reflective surface around your chosen contact? (Maybe not the bathroom...)

4. HOWLERS
Ever received one? It's supposed to be absolutely horrible.

5. OTHER MAGICAL COMMUNICATION
The ones above are hardly the only way wizards can reach out to each other for a quick chat. Feel free to invent new items or use something like enchanted notebooks that you write in and the other sees the text at their end. You could also use flying letters, talking portraits, or, well, cellphones, if you will.

Dearest Draco,

I've been informed that the Owl Post from France has been delayed, so your Christmas package was not delivered on time. Do know that I've every intention of having wods with the MaƮtre de poste, as this is entirely unacceptable.

My sincerest apologies that your gifts have yet to arrive. I do hope that your Christmas wasn't entirely ruined as a result. Perhaps next year you'll consider accompanying me to France for the holidays as I originally requested in order to avoid any similar mishaps in the future.

As always, it remains my sincerest wish that you find both success and happiness in your endeavors at Hogwarts, (though rest assured that it is never too late to change your mind should you find life as a mere professor to be somewhat lacking).

Sending all my love, forever your adoring mother,

N.B.

Hello Mother,

Properly trained owls are so difficult to find abroad these days, don't you find? Sometimes I think the Hogwarts Owlery rather spoils the staff, they seem to make extra efforts on our behalf, even beyond the excellent service I remember from my school days. Perhaps I can have a word with one of them. I'd be happy to do so if it would be of assistance.

Of course it is quite the struggle to soldier on through the holiday season without your gift, but the Christmas celebrations at Hogwarts are remarkably engaging this year. As you know, the staff puts a great effort into keeping our few students light-spirited, as a part of school tradition, and as the Slytherin Seeker's family is abroad without her as well, naturally I cannot allow her skills to slip in the interim. I've been back on my broom more often since the term ended than I'd managed all autumn.

I don't believe I realized until I began teaching just how much we mean to them.

Please send an owl when you return to England. You know how much I look forward to hearing about your travels. Will you be long?

I miss you. I love you.
Your less-than-obedient son,
Draco
