Hogwarts: A Jamjar Meme
![]() HOGWARTS: A JAMJAR MEME Wizards of all ages and from all times: whatever you were doing, wherever you were - none of that matters now. You've been brought to Hogwarts, school of witchcraft and wizardry. You’ll find yourself in the Great Hall under a starry sky, illuminated by the light of a thousand candles. What happened? Why were you brought here? How were you brought here? All questions to be answered, perhaps. But first, mingle with your kind and find a seat for yourself. This will be your home for a while. Because there is no leaving. Student, staff, you with nothing to do - all of you trapped inside the school grounds. Sorting to houses & Start-of-term feast Those of you who have not been sorted into your houses, you're guided to sit on a stool while an old hat will contemplate a proper house for you. After, you can join your housemates at their long table. The ghost of the headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, will soon give a speech once the last student is sorted... "The very best of evenings to you! Now… to our new students, welcome. To our old students, welcome back! Another year full of magical education awaits you…" He will warn you about the anti-curse charm set upon Hogwarts and how it will bring harm in equal measures to yourself. He will urge you to stay calm and have a lemondrop; they’ll be provided at all tables. Dumbledore would like you all to note few things, Hogwarts attendees: 1. This will be a continuous, no commitment necessary “storyline.” What does that mean? Depending on the level of interest, there will be at least one post per month on the 3B-DR that will continue the storyline which begins here. Players are encouraged to make top-levels in the dressing room if they want to keep this verse going with their characters. Madame Rosmerta’s made a tag specifically for this. 2. Multiple versions of characters at various ages are welcome. Whether that means there’s three Harry’s all in fifth year, or one Harry in first year, a second in third year, and a third in sixth year is up to you. All three Harry’s could also interact, depending on player preferences. AU versions of (HP)canon and non-(HP)canon characters are also welcome. Sometimes people disappear from Hogwarts and sometimes they come back. 3. Schoolwork Dumbledore's ghost will invite all characters of age and knowledge to teach their specialties to the younger wizards. If your character could be possibly a teacher, or is interested in teaching, refer to this thread to sign up for a teaching position. The courses do not need to be anything serious (unless you want them to be). If your character would be interested in a course, you can look it up from the character's toplevel. Your character doesn't need to be of student age to participate in courses. (They're free for all!) 4. Sign up for your house. Here is a thread for all the Hogwarts houses that your character could be sorted in. 5. This means… war! Are you a Death Eater? A member of the Order? Rival students? It’s likely your character will encounter someone they don’t get along with. Duels are fine, but beware that any attacks meant to cause harm (curses) will backfire on the caster. If your character doesn’t care that damage will also bounce back to them, then Dumbledore’s ghost will be intervening. He won’t tolerate harm to any of his students… even if it’s harm to Tom. 6. Housecup Of course points will be awarded and taken away by teachers and prefects. You can leave a comment in this thread for the points taken or given. Madam Rosmerta will add them up together for the next post. You can also sign up for a prefect role. Each house has one and that one will change in each post. First come, first serve is the rule, except if your character was a prefect in the last post, you can't sign up in this one.
Name in the title line. Do not leave an empty toplevel. Write a starter like you would to a game event. Link to preferences if you’d prefer. 2. Tag other characters The name of the game is interaction. Why is your character here? Do they want to be here? Are they being reunited with lost loved ones? 3. Have fun! Dumbledore (and Madame Rosmerta) is watching. Behave yourselves. Don’t godmod, infomod, respect other players, etc. |

She sets her fork down, having thoroughly mutilated her breakfast at this point. The idiot ghost of a headmaster's gone and disappeared, summoning a herd of desperate monkeys chasing after the tails of his robes as he flits on. (Of course, she doesn't notice the flinching those around them might do at her laughter.)
Turning her focus back to Narcissa, grey eyes sweep over a suddenly older face. Still a pretty thing. Still her darling sister.
"Cissy, is that the makings of a wrinkle?" She mock gasps, leaning in closer to 'examine' said blemish. Of course there's nothing there, but leaning in closer does present her with the opportunity to murmur, "Come walk with me. I haven't seen 'Dromeda amongst the riff raff and we've much to discuss."

Narcissa makes a show of digging frantically through her handbag – designer, of course, and containing more in the way of the latest cosmetics than actual school-related material – ostensibly searching for a hand mirror that will allow her to examine this alleged wrinkle for herself. Of course, she knows perfectly well that there's nothing of the sort marring her perfect complexion, but it simply wouldn't do not to react when someone suggests such a travesty, and the position allows a curtain of golden hair to give Bella the opening she needs to convey her message.
Making a frustrated sound, Narcissa tugs the drawstring of the bag closed and stands abruptly. "This will never do." She turns to Bellatrix, affecting every bit the image of distressed damsel and tugging on her sister's arm. "Come and show me what you're on about – only I'm sure it's simply a trick of the light."
They do have much to discuss, and Narcissa can see little reason to dally in the Great Hall any longer; she's had her fill of both food and frenzied students, and she welcomes the chance to escape someplace quieter.

"I'm sure it's not a trick of the light," she says, tone wondering, carrying beyond them. Bella rises to her feet, looping their arms together, leading them straight out of the hall. Her pace is casual until the great doors shut behind them, and then her pace quickens. She'll lead them outside, where it may be harder for prying eyes and ears to eavesdrop.
"I find it curious," she finally says upon reaching the lake, "Perhaps even concerning that there are a number of those I cannot recognize who regard us both with an inordinate amount of animosity." Far more than her mere behavior should warrant from a stranger.

Narcissa drops the act once they've cleared the steps of the castle, her demeanor turning much more sharp and businesslike as they make their way across the grounds. She's never been as driven as Bella, but her eldest sister has always been someone she looks up to, and one of the few who sees Narcissa's more serious side as a result, even if that side is more forced than she'd like to admit. Case and point: she hadn't noticed anything unusual about the looks turned their way, though she tries now to speak as though she had.
"Concerning, to be sure, though are you certain it isn't just jealousy? You are quite a bit younger than many of the others who've appeared."
Oh, sixteen-year-old Narcissa. Still stuck on the superficial.

Which is a good thing. The ferocity in which she would defend Cissy is a rather frightening thing to behold.
"No, I'm sure. It wasn't the look of jealousy." The air is crisp outside, making her lean closer to her sister to share their warmth. "My age puts me at a disadvantage if they know me from another time." Troubling... She'd rather know just what angered those dolts so that she could use it to her advantage. Make them bleed a little more.
Bella falls silent for a moment, gazing up at the sky. No, there is a distinct disadvantage, not knowing just what she might've done at a later point in her life.
"We'll need to be careful, Cissy." You need to be careful, she doesn't say. "Just until we understand what's happening here."

While Bellatrix had always seemed to have her mind on the future, Narcissa's school years have remained relatively carefree.
"Another time," she echoes, thoughtful for a moment as she considers the implications of the odd situation they've found themselves in. "But surely, the fact remains that their animosity would stem from some great accomplishment of yours in the future, which they can't possibly hope to achieve themselves."
It seems simple enough to her. Jealousy still, though in a different sense. After all, her sister has always been destined for greatness. Bella has always offered her sage advice as well, which is why Narcissa nods after a moment, never questioning that Bella knows what's best. "You're right, of course. Anyone who knows what's to come may try to alter the future to suit their own agenda."
