Owl Post meme, out of schedule
![]() OWL MAIL Wizards might not text with a mobile phone all that often, but they do have other methods of communication available when it comes to a quick chat with their mates (or enemies) at any hour of the day. Post your characters, name, and preferences in the title area. You can include a generic starter if you want, or just post a blank. Anything goes. 1. OWL MAIL This might be a little slow for quicker chats, especially if you're close by, but it's good to give the bird some exercise! 2. FIRE CALL Just pop your head into that fire and chat away. Probably not recommended for drunken calls. 3. ENCHANTED MIRROR Those little reflective surfaces that show your friend's face whenever you might need to tell them something. Maybe you can enchant them to connect to any reflective surface around your chosen contact? (Maybe not the bathroom...) 4. HOWLERS Ever received one? It's supposed to be absolutely horrible. 5. OTHER MAGICAL COMMUNICATION The ones above are hardly the only way wizards can reach out to each other for a quick chat. Feel free to invent new items or use something like enchanted notebooks that you write in and the other sees the text at their end. You could also use flying letters, talking portraits, or, well, cellphones, if you will. |

Of course, she smacked him when he commented on this. Completely uncalled for, if you ask him. Abuse is what it is. Never mind that he's slumming it on their couch, counting forwards and backwards, trying his best to bore himself to sleep.
The snoring jerks Sirius out of his light little doze, and he's blearily glancing around the room, searching for its source. It comes in the form of a smushed face on one of the smaller wall mirrors.
Ah--well, then. ]
Cute, mate, real cute. You're drooling.
no subject
In any case, he comes to it with Sirius' voice in his ears and he stirs, looking around in intoxicated confusion. ]
Pads?
no subject
Mooney. Looking hairier than I last saw you.
[ Oh yeah, he's 100% back to it, now, no bleariness and half dozing about it. Completely, bonafide awake and tilting his mirror left and right to try and get a better angle of Remus, while he's sprawled on the couch. Which doesn't work, of course. So he gives up and reaches up to scratch at his own stubble. ]
And decidedly more rumpled. I'd say it looks good...
[ Except he figures Remus probably hasn't slept in ages, and he's probably more run down than the rest of him. ]
no subject
[ Remus is still confused. He's wiping his face with a weary hand and squints into the twilight of his room. ]
Oh. The mirror. [ Fascinating, isn't it? Watching revelation happen in real time. He scrambles to hold up the mirror to his face level, half of his face still pressed to the mattress. ]
Is everything okay?
no subject
[ Good lord, at this rate, he'll need a drink, if only to be on the same level of raggedness. There's something like fondness swimming in his chest as he watches Remus scramble to reorient himself. All bleary-eyed and disheveled (to be fair, he's been in this state for a wee bit of time, now, to which Sirius is more than happy to overlook, so as to avoid the bickering) and oblivious to the world. Rather uncharacteristic of Remus, save for those times right after the moon. ]
Must have missed my face, yeah? It's alright, can't judge you for that, mate. It is handsome.
no subject
Must have thought about you. And your obnoxiously handsome face.
Is everything alright? [ Sirius and James have been kind of distant lately for some reason. Not that Remus has had the time to think about it much.
He's sleepy and drunk, tired, out of it. The next murmur is soft and distracted: ] Miss you.
no subject
[ The joke flickers from his eyes, briefly, and Sirius is quick to huff and cover that pause up with mindless babbles. ] James' gone batty, Evans gave me a smack when I told her she looked ready to burst, and you're out gallivanting Merlin knows where.
[ The murmured 'miss you' has his thoughts screeching to a halt. Suspicions, dark ugly words Peter's mentioned, distrust, lies, deceit. It drags something too vulnerable and open to the surface, making him fidgety and self-conscious and rolling onto his side, ducking under the blanket as he curls around that piece of mirror, knees bumping the back of the couch in the process. Moony wouldn't. He couldn't. It's the same argument he's had in his head for a while, now. ]
When are you coming home?
[ He can't quite verbalize how he feels, but it's plan on his face and in the way his thumb rubs against the edge of the mirror. ]
no subject
Did I wake you up? I'm sorry, Pads.
[ The mention of Lily and James makes him smile, a lopsided, drunken smile. He doesn't really know what's going on back at home but maybe they've been distant because Lily's about to pop with a baby. It must be busy. ]
She's feeling okay, isn't she? You'd tell me if something was wrong. [ It's not a question, a statement. Sirius wouldn't keep these things from him. Not even if they've seemed to drift apart a little bit lately. ]
I don't know, Pads. I don't know. Dumbledore wants me to handle something else, still... [ He yawns, eyes falling half close. ]

bless you
or it'll backfire
like that one comment you made to evans the other day
you know, when she hexed your arse and stormed off
which is really business as usual, now that i think about it
and suggesting to lick his face probably didn't work for you because your tongue's not magical, mate
mine, on the other hand....
no subject
now it's just dirty
and i don't want to know anything about you and dirty
...actually never mind that, i'll take it back
and i realize that i wrote this and could just start over but the bird needs exercise anyway, so deal with it
but i'll take it back because i do have some questions
you better be prepared to answer them
i might need a few scrolls written on the subject
be prepared, pads
no subject
my apologies for insulting your delicate sensibilities
but i'll have you know i could've grown a beard while your voice was still squeaking when you first set eyes on your soon-to-be-but-not-quiet-yet lady friend
so i don't think that sentiment really applies
also, when am i not prepared to answer questions?
you could consider bribing me after insulting my tongue, though
or flattery
choose your poison, and my knowledge is yours for the taking
(although i will say you needn't do anything too drastic, you know i'm more than happy to help with your tragic love life)
no subject
you have always been disturbingly like an old man, haven't you, pads? i hope that doesn't mean your dick is going to shrivel up and dry away quicker than the rest of ours. just you know, for your benefit. i am a good friend and all that.
we might require some alcohol for that discussion. for your benefit i mean.
i need a few very tangible advises on real issues. i'm saving myself for someone special as you very well know. but you have dipped your toes into the pool. which of course means you should share with the class!
no subject
just bring me alcohol, i need a good drink after this conversation and the horrible imagery you've conjured up.
and i've dipped more than just my toes into the pool, mate. i also have no bloody idea what i'm supposed to be sharing. about how to stick it in? or how to get to the point of sticking it in? maybe not making evans scream like a banshee would be a good start. unless there's something you're not telling me about the two of you, in which i will be very sore for not hearing the explicit details.

What do you want for Christmas?
no subject
Oh, well hello there conspicuously crumpled piece of parchment. ]
no homework
world peace
for prongs to quit bemoaning his fate about evans' most recent rejection
and that newest muggle record from the rolling stones
i imagine it's brilliant isn't it moony?
[ And over the shoulder his note goes. Followed shortly later by a second note, haphazardly tossed Remus' way. ]
what about you, mate?
no subject
- for the moon to fall from the sky
- friends who don't land me in detention
You know, the usual. Or I suppose chocolate would be fine as well.
You'll just have to wait until Christmas to find out about the album.
no subject
2. 'fraid i can't help with the moon, but you do have your furry evening companion leading up to, during, and after
3. i am innocent and will always remain innocent
chocolate?
CHOCOLATE?
oy moony, be more imaginative. i could get you that whenever
how about you tell me anyway and i'll decide on christmas whether i agree or not
no subject
But really, there's nothing in particular that I need. Don't feel that you have to get me anything.
no subject
shite. i'll never last the wait. it was nice knowing you moony, my life in this world was far too short and unremarkable. we never accomplished the ultimate of all the pranks hogwarts has ever seen. this must be one of life's greatest tragedies.
[ A second note says: ] shuddup.
[ The third tossed Moony's way, rather enthusiastically: ] wand to your head, what would you ask for?
no subject
Don't be so dramatic. You'll survive somehow and your name will be spoken in staff meetings for years to come as Hogwarts' most insufferable ingrate.
[He waits for all the notes (yes, he knows there's more coming) to collect on the desk in front of him before adding to his own note. What a waste of parchment, Sirius, really.]
You'll just accuse me of being boring if I tell you.
no subject
And to think, there's been no mention of dick involvement at all.]don't try to make me feel better with your flattery, moony, i already feel myself fading from this plane of existence.
[ He's half tempted to waste even more paper, but refrains. ]
tell me anyway, and let me decide if i'll call you boring or not.
no subject
I suppose there's nothing for it, then. Think Prongs would like the album instead?
[Considering Sirius is involved, he's rather surprised there hasn't been any mention of dick so far. Miracles can happen!]
Fine. There's a novel that came out last year by an American muggle author named Alex Haley that's been getting a lot of attention. It's called Roots. If you really want to get me something, I wouldn't mind seeing what all the fuss is about.
